Prom short for promenade is a semi formal dance or gathering of high
schoolers. It is very popular in the U.S and Canada.
It is a major event for them. There are two types of prom: the "Junior
Prom" and "Senior Prom". The Junior for high school juniors
and the senior for senior.
Honorary titles like The Prom King and Prom Queen are revealed during this
event. The juniors have titles like Prom Prince and Princess.
Students look forward to this event as it determines popularity and the
honorary titles are based on their level of participation in school, clubs or
sports.
The boys usually wear black or white formal wear with ties and vests
sometimes matching their partners dress.
The girls however wear ladies' dresses or evening gowns and adorn
themselves with jewelry. The girls however take this event very seriously.
Every girl looks like a beautifull princess in their gowns and look very
beautiful.
